It is named so because it has little patterns in the wood that look like tiny eyes, about the size that a bird would have. It's pretty cool and unique. This pen is crafted from the skillful and precision hand laminated woods of Walnut and hard to find Bodark. How neat is that? This pen is created in a stripe design and carefully finished to bring out the outstanding wood grain and sleek design pattern. Durable, unusual and impressive, it is finished with 10kt upgraded gold plated embellishments to complete the look of this unique and stylish writing instrument.
Note #1: The color on the pictures are slightly off... the Walnut browns are pretty close but the lighter Bodark is more light reddish brown that so yellow.
Note #2: Wood being the natural product it is, there has been 2 slight cracks develop on the lower barrel near the center band. Difficult to see.
